If hardness range, quench, temper, or stress relief is not written, the reference price is estimated for the part as machined and does not include those operations. If you want them, write the material, the hardness range, and whether stress relief is required, on the drawing or in the notes. Quench and temper are separate line items. Outside heat treat is counted in production days. Shipping days are still listed separately.
For 6061 and 7075, write the supply temper clearly. T6 is the usual one. T6 is the incoming condition. It is not a second quench after machining. The heat-treat condition of 17-4PH must be stated. Heat treat of 4140 is confirmed by engineering. The hardness range follows the drawing.
Finishes are also separate line items and are not included by default. Anodize, powder coat, and passivation are selected in the quote. They exist only if selected, and the days fall inside production days.
On upload, write the hardness range and stress relief in the notes. If they are not written, read the itemized reference price as the part as machined. If they are written, wait until that line appears on its own, then confirm. A reference price is not a contract.
