Long 6061 extrusions for a heatsink are twisted about 1 mm over a meter. The print is straight within 0.2 after machining. Clamping them flat in a vise marks the fins and they spring back.

You will not vise a twist straight and have it stay, especially across fins. Fixture it at the points the print uses as datums, machine the registering faces first, then unclamp and see what moved. If it springs more than the tolerance, the extrusion has to be stress-relieved or the tolerance is a negotiation.

Clamp on a pad that does not crush a fin. A crushed fin is a permanent twist of another kind.

Measure twist before you cut and record it. Incoming material that is already outside the finished tolerance cannot be clamped into spec.
