ABS blocks are drilling with a standard HSS drill and the hole closes behind the drill. The flute is packed with a smear. RPM is what we use for aluminum.

Plastic needs a drill that cuts, a slow speed, and a peck that clears a chip before it melts. Aluminum rpm in ABS is a welder. Drop the speed, keep a positive feed so the edge cuts, and pull out often.

A polished or parabolic flute sheds ABS better than a dull general drill. Once the hole is smeared, the next peck is rubbing a sealed bore.

If the hole must stay round, support the exit and accept a ream or a boring pass. A melted drill hole will not be round after it cools.
