A magazine bar feeder sometimes pushes so hard the collet clicks open and the bar walks. The remnant is short. The pusher force is at the feeder's default. The lathe collet pressure is also at default.

The feeder only has to slide the bar to a stop, not forge it through the collet. Lower the push force and confirm the collet is open enough during the feed. A half-open collet plus a strong pusher is the click you hear.

A short remnant in the collet acts like a wedge. Set a minimum remnant and eject it. Do not keep feeding against a stub.

Defaults are for a brochure bar, not for your collet and your stop. Write the forces that actually work on the setup sheet.
