Air-oil mist that is not reaching the spindle bearings

The spindle mist unit's sight glass moves, but the spindle housing is hot at the nose after an hour of 10,000 rpm aluminum work. There is oil in the cup and air at the regulator. Alarms are off.

A moving sight glass at the unit does not mean oil reached the bearing. Pull the line at the spindle end, with the spindle stopped, and see if mist actually arrives. A cracked fitting will feed the chip pan and the glass will still jump.

Heat at the nose after an hour at speed, with a fresh tool and a normal cut, is a lubrication or a bearing problem. Confirm mist first. If mist is there and the nose is still hot, stop and get the spindle looked at before the finish work continues.

Do not raise the oil until the line is proved. Extra oil in a blocked line goes somewhere you do not want it.
