We cut one, check it, then cut nineteen more. Twice this month the first piece passed and piece eight was out because a tool wore. I do not want to inspect every part, and I do not want another scrap lot.

Hold the lot until the first article is accepted, then pull a part at a fixed count, not when someone remembers. For a finishing tool in aluminum, every fifth or tenth part is enough to see wear before the whole tray is wrong.

Write the wear check on the dimension that actually fails, usually a bore or a wall, not a full balloon of the drawing each time.

If the tool is in steel or stainless, shorten that interval. Aluminum lies to you for longer.
