Wear compensation on a profile works for the walls and gouges the arc lead-in when the wear is a few tenths negative. The lead-in radius in the program is 2 mm. The tool is 10 mm.

A lead-in arc has to be larger than the compensation move the control will apply. With a negative wear the control treats the tool as larger and the 2 mm arc is no longer enough. Use a lead-in bigger than the tool radius plus the wear you expect, or lead in with a line.

Alarm-free is not gage-free. A gouge at the start of a wall can be a comp problem even when the rest of the profile looks right.

Apply a small wear and single-block the lead-in once. You will see the arc fail before the part does.
