DWG-4308 rev A is a 304 cover, 24 pieces. The hole is labeled M6 and nothing else: no pitch, no depth, and the callout sits 6 mm from a wall. I need to know if that is M6×1.0 before I send it.

I would not quote a bare M6. Coarse M6×1.0 is the usual call, but 6 mm from a wall is tight for a tap. Put the pitch and a usable depth on the print, and leave at least 1.5 pitches of clearance at the bottom. Is the hole blind?

On a 304 lid we tapped last week the print said only M6. We assumed ×1.0, and the gauge stopped 4.2 mm down because the drill was short. The buyer wanted 8 mm of thread. That one came back.

I will mark M6×1.0, 8 mm usable, blind, and move the note off the wall. Can you still hold about 8–10 days on 24 pieces of 304?
