The nozzle seat on our laser head is stainless. The title block only says stainless steel. Is 304 enough?

Which stainless grade for a laser nozzle seat?
304 is the common seat when the drawing only needs corrosion resistance. If you need 316, write 316. We cut the grade on the drawing.

A title block that says stainless is not a grade. Add the number before you ask for a firm quote.

The seat fit and the face that touches the nozzle still need a tolerance. The grade does not define the fit.
