How do you mark a part that still has to be machined on the other side?

Op 1 is done, op 2 is tomorrow. Unmarked parts are going back into the raw bin. We have machined op 1 twice and skipped op 2 on a different lot.

A paint dot or a stamped letter on a non-critical face, agreed with the buyer, is enough. The mark means 'op 1 done' and it is not on a datum.

A separate tray with a card is the backup when the drawing forbids marks. The raw bin is not a tray.

The traveler moves with the tray. A traveler on the bench and parts in the bin will be split by the next shift.
