A nozzle seat and a base plate for a laser head. Do you cut these in aluminum, or do we need stainless?

Aluminum or stainless for laser equipment parts?
6061 aluminum is the usual choice for a nozzle seat, an optic mount, and a base plate when the drawing does not call stainless. It machines cleanly and takes a light anodize.

Use stainless when the drawing asks for corrosion resistance or when the part sees coolant and a bare aluminum face is not acceptable. We cut the grade the drawing names.

We do not pick a grade the print leaves blank. Send the material with the file, and say whether the optic seat is masked.
