Fanuc G28 that rapids through the part when G91 is forgotten

A program ends with G28 X0 Y0 Z0 in absolute by mistake, because a G91 was cancelled earlier. The return to zero is a rapid across the part. It has happened on two Fanuc mills with similar footers.

The safe footer is an explicit G91 G28 Z0, then X and Y if you need them, then G90, in that order, with Z first. An absolute G28 to X0 Y0 Z0 is a rapid to the work zero, which is inside the part.

Search old programs for G28 lines that are not preceded by G91. This is a copy-paste fault and it lives in footers people never reread.

Single-block the footer once on every new program, above the part, before you trust it. Two machines with the same footer will both crash.
