On an Okuma lathe the OSP kept a zero shift after a reset and a program change. The new program's first diameter was off by exactly the shift we had used on the previous job. The offset page for the new work looked zeroed.

Look for a shift, a tool offset addition, or a zero set that lives outside the work offset you cleared. OSP will keep more than one zero. Clear the shift from the previous job as part of tearing down, not as part of hoping the new program replaces it.

Prove the first move in X at a slow feed against a known face or a cutoff. An exact copy of yesterday's shift is yesterday's shift.

Add 'clear zero shift' to the changeover list for that machine. It will not be obvious on the page you usually edit.
