On an older Haas control, a rigid tap faults and the recovery leaves the tap in the hole. Setting 130 and the rigid tap recovery have been used differently by two shifts. One shift frees the tap. The other breaks it.

Pick one recovery and write it above the control: when a tap faults, use the rigid tap recovery so the spindle and the Z stay married until the tap is out. Do not jog Z with the tap buried.

After it is out, look at why it faulted before the next hole. A recovery is not a new process. Chip packing will fault the next hole the same way.

If the two shifts will not share a procedure, the supervisor owns the card on the machine. This is not a matter of style.
