A drawing note says break edges, and the buyer rejected a 0.2 mm chamfer

Every edge on a small steel spacer was broken about 0.2 mm, which is what we always do for 'break edges.' The buyer says the note means a burr-free sharp edge, not a chamfer, because a mating clip has to sit flush.

Ask with a picture before the next lot. 'Break edges' is not a size. Some buyers mean no burr and no measurable chamfer. Some mean 0.2 to 0.4. The note as written cannot be inspected the same way by both shops.

On this lot, sort for parts with the smallest break and send the reading. Do not recut the whole lot into a bigger chamfer while the argument is about a clip.

Put the agreed number on the setup sheet and on the quote. A free-text note is how this comes back.
