Feedrate of a drilling cycle posted in the wrong units

A shop that programs in metric posted a drill for an inch control by accident. The cycle ran, the feed was absurd, and the drill broke on the first hole. The CAM file was named metric. The post was the inch post.

Name the post in the setup sheet and in the program header in words a setter can read. A file name is not a unit system. One drill in the air, read the feed on the control, and compare it to a feed you believe, before the hole.

Lock posts to machines in the library so the inch machine cannot see the metric post without a deliberate act.

The broken drill is cheap. The hole in the fixture under it is not. That is the reason for the air pass.
