If the machine has a second vise or a pallet, the hot job goes there and the current offset stays untouched. If it does not, finish the piece in the vise, record the pin check, and only then pull the fixture.

Do not zero G54 for the hot job on top of the old one. Use the next offset and write the old numbers down before anyone touches the page.
