Metal powder-bed printing (SLM / DMLS) is not a standard line. Functional metal prototypes and small batches are CNC milled or turned in Dongguan, China. This is not resin SLA.
SLM and DMLS fuse metal powder with a laser, layer by layer. They come up when a lattice or a closed internal channel cannot be machined. Mating faces, threads, and tight fits on a printed metal part still need machining. We do not invent printer counts or build volumes.
For 1–50 pieces, CNC usually wins on tolerance, threads, and lead time. Aluminum, stainless, and steels are the usual CNC path. Special SLM or DMLS sourcing can be reviewed case by case if the geometry truly needs it.
Upload a STEP, choose the metal grade, and see the itemized CNC reference price. Write in the notes if an internal channel is why you asked about metal printing. A reference price is not a contract.
