DWG-4173 rev A is the first file I am about to upload, a 6061 bracket, 15 pieces. I have a STEP and a PDF. I do not know what has to be on the drawing before you can price it. The holes are M5 and one face is a fit at 20.00 mm.
What does a CNC quote need on the drawing?
A quote needs the material, the quantity, the units, and the tolerances that matter. The STEP gives the shape. The PDF should carry the notes the model does not. Mark the fit, the threads, and any finish. If those are missing, the price is an as-machined part to the general tolerance.
We priced a 6061 bracket from a STEP alone and the 20.00 mm fit was not on the PDF. We held a general ±0.1 mm and the pin, which needed ±0.02 mm, did not enter. The remake with 20.00 ±0.02 mm and M5 on the PDF was a normal 8-10 day job.
I will put 6061, quantity 15, millimeters, M5, and 20.00 ±0.02 mm on DWG-4173 before I upload. Is that enough to quote the 8-10 day tier?
