DWG-4165 rev A is a pocketed cold plate plus a cover for an AI server, 8 pieces. The STEP does not name the metal. I can send 6061 or copper C110. The seal face has no flatness yet.
Aluminum or copper for AI cooling equipment parts?
6061 is the plate I would quote when you do not need the extra conductivity. Copper C110 when you do, and you should expect more burr and a higher price. Put flatness on the seal face only. On plates like this I usually see 0.05 mm there, not on the whole pocketed part. Are the plate and the cover two part numbers?
We machined a 6061 cold plate and the seal face measured 0.04 mm flat after a skim. A copper C110 one, same pocket, smeared and the face sat at 0.09 mm until a lighter finish pass. Quoting the cover as part of the plate was the other mistake. They are two parts.
I will split DWG-4165 into a 6061 plate and a 6061 cover, and put 0.05 mm flatness on the seal face. Please quote 8 sets. Is the shop time still about 8-10 days with both parts in the same file?
